Bio

Raha Fard is an Iranian- Canadian artist,based in GTA, Canada. She is currently studying MFA, IAMD at OCAD U, where shehad her BFA too. Also, she has a master’s degree Telecommunication Engineering,and 15 years of experience before coming to OCAD University. She works inmultiple disciplines such as drawing and painting, installation, digital art,and making short films. Her works highly engage with critical perspectives onhuman rights issues in her homeland, Iran. She interrogates her own bodyand her psychological narratives, as a member of the Iranian diaspora and as acancer survivor to explore how she is affected by the social-political time andplace she lives in.
She has participated in several group exhibitions in Iran, Canada, Italy, andKorea. OCAD U President’s Award, Patricia Joy Alpert Memorial Award, OntarioGraduate Scholarship for two years, Graduate Studies Research and Travel Grant,First Year Graduate Students Award, and Scarborough Arts' 36th Annual JuriedExhibition Staff Pick Award for Visual Art are some of the awards she has won.

Also, she published a novel in Farsi “محوشدگی(Evanescence)” in 2023, with Mehri Publication company based in the UK. It wasincluded in the list of the ten prominent Farsi books published in1402(2023-2024) by publishers outside of Iran, by BBC Farsi. (www.bbc.com/persian/articles/cjkdl6yxg45o)
